Hawes Holiday Cottages & surrounding area
Hawes is an ideal holiday location for walking and touring Wensleydale and the adjoining dales. It is the home of the famous Wensleydale Cheese and the Dales Countryside Museum. Visit on a Tuesday and enjoy the thriving local market day, where visitors and locals converge in the main street to stock up on local produce.
 
The town is a maze of narrow streets and has many shops, craft galleries, tearooms and restaurants. You can even pay a visit to a traditional rope maker! Dramatic limestone scenery surrounds Hawes and it is a haven for walking and many other outdoor pursuits.

Simonstone Holiday Cottages

 

Simonstone is a peaceful hamlet set in Upper Wensleydale, at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The hamlet is an excellent base to explore the whole of the Dales with walks from the doorstep.

 

A 20 minute stroll takes you to magnificent Hardraw Force, England’s highest unbroken waterfall above ground (Approximately 19 metres drop). The Pennine Way and the ‘Buttertubs’ Pass are nearby. It is a haven for walkers and outdoors enthusiasts. Shaw Ghyll Wood is a firm favourite with visitors and provides a tranquil setting with pretty waterfalls. 

 

The hamlet of Simonstone has a hotel serving meals, whilst the market town of Hawes (2 miles away) has an array of amenities including the Dales Folk Museum, antique and craft shops, pubs, restaurants and tea-rooms. The famous Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre is a very popular Dales visitor attraction.
