Giggleswick is a picturesque village ¾ miles from the old market town of Settle and in the heart of Ribblesdale’s famous walking country. In the locality walking, cycling, golf, caving, climbing and fishing can be enjoyed. Pony trekking and Hot Air Ballooning can also be enjoyed.
The 3 Peaks – Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent are a huge draw for walkers. The river Ribble runs through the village and offers beautiful but less challenging riverside walks. Giggleswick village has two pubs and a local tea shop/convenience store.
You can easily walk to the market town of Settle. Local amenities in Settle include a swimming pool, restaurants, wine bar, traditional Fish and Chip shops, tea rooms and three supermarkets.
Giggleswick is a good touring base and it is only 40 minutes from the Lake District. You can easily visit Kendal, Windermere, and Bowness. The popular market town of Skipton is only a 30 minute drive. Popular local visitor attractions are the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway, Gisburn Forest, Whitescar Caves in Ingleton and the scenic Waterfall walk.
