There are some superb holiday cottages close to the wonderful Aysgarth Falls. In the village you will find a couple of tea rooms and pubs. Aysgarth is located in between the Dales towns of Hawes and Leyburn where can enjoy a large selection of shops, restaurants, gift and food shops.
Carperby village is in the heart of Herriot Country. Alf Wight, better known as the writer James Herriot, spent his honeymoon in Carperby's village inn. The surrounding countryside is magnificent and ideal for walkers. The whole of the Yorkshire Dales are easily reached by car. Castle Bolton and The Forbidden Corner at Middleham are popular day excursions.
If you wish to venture further afield it is possible to have day trips to the North Yorkshire Moors or the Lake District.
